“Everytown for Gun Safety” Mistakenly Releases Ad in Defense of Gun Ownership

Bloomberg has rallied his troops and built a “grass-roots” coalition to defeat the evil NRA and all its violent, gun-loving freak members. To combat the NRA, they’ve created this potent ad that will strike terror into the hearts and minds of every gun nut — by justifying their view that it’s better to own a weapon and defend yourself than to wait for the assistance of the police:

The ad shows a woman fitting the liberal stereotype — weak, defenseless, and emotional — attacked by a man who also fits the liberal stereotype — malicious, brooding, and violent. She calls 9-1-1 and tries to convince them to send the police, but the evil man breaks into the house and takes the innocent kid from the innocent lady. She tries to stop him but is unable to physically overpower him because, you know, women are weak and feeble.

The evil man pulls a gun, she poses in awkward faux fright, we hear the sound of a gunshot and the screen fades to black as the sound of the kid’s crying can be heard.

If this video were accepted as fact, a rational person would come to the following conclusions:

  • All women are weak and require the protection of other men
  • The men assigned to protect weak women cannot arrive in time to stop the evil men out to hurt women
  • Women would be better off defending themselves
  • The best defense against a gun is another gun, so women should purchase a gun to defend themselves

Of course, we already know that liberals (including Bloomberg) are waging a war on logic, so they’re banking on the hopes that nobody will stop to think about the assumptions this ad makes and the logical conclusions that arise from it.

However, I wouldn’t be surprised if Bloomberg finds that all his attempts to curb gun ownership falls into an ironic vacuum of failure in which all his efforts cause gun sales to rise — a failure that Obama sharply endured before him. Perhaps we should not scold Bloomberg for his idiocy but instead encourage him because, as liberals have taught us, the ends always justify the means. If he’s an accidental proponent of gun control, maybe we encourage his daft behavior. But I wouldn’t donate any money to his cause, that’s for sure.

The video is also a striking display of rampant modern feminism, in which all women are told they are in danger at all times and will certainly be a victim at one point or another. What a horrible, paranoid existence that must be. I would offer women a completely different outlook:  Be aware, get trained, and buy a weapon for self defense that you’ve been trained in. If you’re not comfortable with firearms, try them out at a shooting range with people you trust. If you’re still not comfortable with firearms, get a collapsible baton, pepper spray, a taser, anything that can help you even the odds.

Guess who else does this? Men. If you’re all for equality — as feminists so often espouse — then defend yourself like a man would and stop sitting around waiting to be a victim. Bloomberg won’t be there to save you, as his video so astutely portrays.

Showdown: Bloomberg vs. Reality

bloomberg

Former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is at it again. This time he’s convinced himself that a top-down organization funded by rich liberals like himself is a “grass-roots effort”. Last week he announced “Everytown for Gun Safety“, a terrible play on words that switches the word “New” with “Every” in a shameless attempt to evoke emotion over a tragedy. The new organization is an umbrella group for his two other gun groups, “Mayors Against Illegal Guns” and “Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America”. Continue reading

Harvard Study: Gun Control Does Not Reduce Murder Rates

For those of you interested in Second Amendment rights and all the facts that suggest an armed society is a polite society, check out Vigilant Vote’s analysis of a Harvard study released last year.

Joe Jarvis

Harvard College has done a study on the effects of gun control, printed in the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy, and found that murder rates do not wane because of gun control. Rather, “the determinants of murder and suicide are basic social, economic, and cultural factors, not the prevalence of some form of deadly mechanism.” The study found that where guns are unavailable as murder weapons, other tools are substituted. It further found that some countries with low rates of gun ownership still have quite high murder rates. The study mostly focused on European countries when comparing rates of gun ownership to murder rates.

Russia had one of the lowest rates of gun ownerships at 4,000 gun owners per 100,000 people, yet the murder rate is 20.54 per 100,000 people. On the reverse side of these stats was Finland with 39,000 gun owners per 100,000 residents, and a murder…

An Open Letter to Colorado’s House State, Veterans and Military Affairs Committee

Seal_of_ColoradoRocky Mountain Gun Owners sent out an e-mail with information on HB 14-1151, a bill to repeal the magazine ban of 2013 that was passed in response to the Aurora, CO theater shooting in 2012 and the Newtown, CT shooting in 2013. The bill will be considered by the House State, Veterans and Military Affairs Committee this Monday, February 10, and may pave the way to fight back against all the Bloombergs and all the Obamas who seek to disarm us. RMGO requested its members and supporters to write the committee and tell them to vote YES to on HB 14-1151 to repeal the ban. Continue reading

A Letter to My Congressmen

US Congress

This morning I wrote several letters concerning the upcoming gun control legislation to the congressmen who represent my congressional district and my state:  Representative Ed Perlmutter, Senator Michael Bennet, and Senator Mark Udall.  Unfortunately, all three are affiliated with the Democratic party, making any discussion about the personal liberty of guns an uphill battle.  Regardless, I decided to plow ahead and send them a respectful, reasonable, and logical letter on the topic. Obama (Unsurprisingly) Exploits Children

President Obama Exploits Children

On January 16, 2013, President Barack Obama signed 23 executive orders seeking to “curb gun violence” while several children surrounded him.  These children weren’t picked at random; instead, they are the authors of several letters that President Obama is touting as another reason to give government more control in the sale of guns nationwide.  Here’s the full text of the letter from Grant Fitz, an eight year old who stood with Obama as he signed the orders: Continue reading
